Another short word list

Semantic shifts occur when first language meanings are transferred, resulting in extended, restricted, or redefined meanings in English:

1. get = to give birth
2. hear = to listen
3. brat = illegitimate child
4. young husband = son
5. second husband = brother-in-law
6. daughter = wife
